9/24/2019 Ellensburg KOA to Coeur D’Alene, Day 14

Up late, we both showered, and drove on to Coeur D’Alene. Eastern Washington is dry and very flat.  We passed huge stacks of harvested hay 16x16x50 and larger.  Hay in Ellensburg sells for $200 per ton.  It is used for livestock fodder in winter.  It’s as if Kansas or Nebraska grew grass.  The flats turn to long runs of rises and falls over high plains.

Coeur D’Alene sits on a large lake, Lake Coeur D’Alene.  It’s a beautiful place.  We’ve returned to Blackwell Island RV Park.  There’s a moose and two babies on the park, though we have not seen them yet.

Picky as usual, Ellen didn’t like site 10, nor did she like site 47.  After walking the park she chose 120.  At check in Tom said, “site 120 is available it’s an additional $10”  “I’ll have to ask my husband.” To which tom said, “My wife would never bother to ask me.”  We moved to 120.

Blackwell is just over a bridge from North Idaho College.  We found wide open parking in their north parking lot.  West River Drive runs into Lakeshore Drive, both front the lake and lead to downtown CDA.  Again we ate at Tito’s Italian Grill; it’s good if not great.

Weather it is mostly sunny today with temperatures up to 80 in the sun.  Sunshine!
