We’re off to our favorite camera shop to look at a new camera for Ellen. She does not like the size and weight of my DSLR camera and lens camera.

We looked at mirrorless cameras at a local best buy to see what’s available. I did not like the build quality of the Nikon cameras. Most of the Sony cameras look like point and shoots with better internals. The Canon cameras had a more solid build that the Nikon, and I liked them. Ellen was drawn to the Sony A6000.

Now we’ll see what models our camera shop has in stock. They have an advantage over a best buy in that you can actually hold the camera and lens combination you’re thinking to buy and test it out in the store. Ellen will walk away with a camera that is much better quality than the Point and shoot she typically carries and it might even rival my camera setup.

There’s a predecessor to the A6000 that’s rumored to support 4K and maybe s-log. That would be an awesome camera, but Ellen does not want to wait. I cannot blame here. This has been a long time coming.
