Eastern Slope Campground & Hills RV, Conway NH, Mercedes Service, Scarborough Me

The cold snap continued in earnest last night.  We half filled our water tank and pulled our hose in.  We found that we had no hot water pressure and plenty of cold running our pump.  I tried connecting to shore water, but Eastern Slope Campground had wisely shut the water down.  Some web research turned up the check valve behind the hot water tank as a likely culprit. This is good news; it is a problem that can be dealt with.  A frozen pipe pipe issue would be much more severe.  The check valve is about $9 at Hills RV.

We’re’ due for our 15000 mile Mercedes service.  I called Hill RV this morning and they’re slammed.  He could get us in for an oil change on November 4th!  He’s not an authorized Mercedes dealer and recommended Scarborough Mercedes in Maine.  I called them and we can get in for service on Wednesday.  We’ll discuss our options in getting to the coast by Wed at 10 Am.  Talking with the service guy, Mohammed, it turns out that they cannot lift over 1700 lbs.  They will not be able to do any work that requires lifting The Beast.  That should no be a problem.

The temperature is rising quickly now that the sun is high in the sky.  We’re off for breakfast.  With no water there’s no shower nor toilet facilities at the campground.   We’ll have breakfast at the Blueberry Muffin which we passed about four times yesterday.

We could stay at Eastern Slope Campground another night, but with our appointment in Scarborough, we’ll be movin’ on.
